About Nyree Murray

Nyree Murray is an Entrepreneur, a proud New York native. She is known for Hairdressing and serving her community. When she was 17 years old, she was offered $150 dollars to do a weave installation. She then began taking hair seriously. At 21 years old she decided to move 2,805 miles, across the country to Los Angeles, California. She hadn’t gone away to college. She figured this could be her going away experience. She wanted to obtain her cosmetology license and she decided on one of the top schools in the country. She attended Toni and Guy Hairdressing Academy in Santa Monica, CA. She fell in love with the west coast landscape and made it her second home. She is passionate about using hair to create an experience and to tell a story. Transformation is a process that happens within. Nyree believes when you look good you feel good and then go on to do good. Psychology and healing has played a tremendous role in her career. “You’re sitting with people for a few hours a day, you’re bound to hear their thoughts. You learn to listen without judgment”. For some, this is the only time their head is being touched. For some this is the only time they are sharing how they have really been.

She has been featured in Sticks & Stones, Elicit, and Revolt. Nyree is currently bicoastal but she is ready to make the world her oyster. She plans to continue traveling and learning about how other cultures use hair to tell their story.
